2022 Spring Travel Guide

Itโ€™s been a busy season for us here at Trips Travel Agency as Spring 2022 travel is off to a great start! While many of the pandemic rules are still in place many are changing and changing fast.

In the U.S. a federal judge struck down the mask mandate for public transportation namely air and train travel. Previously the mandate was set to expire on April 18, 2022 but was extended for another two weeks and set to expire on May 3, 2022 instead. Thie extension never took place and as such TSA immediately stopped enforcing the policy. Once that happened airlines followed suit as well. Now wearing a mask on a plane, in an Uber or on a train is entirely up to you!

As the world goes back to a pre-pandemic life many of the events that were only virtual now are taking place in person or taking advantage of a hybrid model. One example is the renowned Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival. It has a myriad of events that take place in person and virtual so everyone can take part.

Travelers looking for in-person experiences are indeed inking events such as the Masters, Kentucky Derby and the World Cup into their social calendar. In the case of the World Cup in Qatar, weโ€™ve seen travelers book early as prices for everything have gone up and inventory is limited.

While vaccination against Covid-19 still remains prevalent in traveling to 2022 with more and more destinations also requiring booster shots. If you search deep enough there are a few destinations bucking the trend. Most recently Antigua and Barbuda announced that they no longer require vaccination for travelers as of April 16, 2022. Instead, unvaccinated travelers can travel into the country but must take a Covid test before entering. Additionally, a booster is not required for vaccinated travelers. But thatโ€™s just one of many destinations that have instituted a change.
